Oaklands
Oaklands is situated in the small village of Leeming Bar it opened in February 2016. It has a large lounge with an open plan kitchen and dining room. The garden is an on-going project and has a sensory garden with a swing, trampoline, water features, edible planting.
The home is surrounded by fields and as we are near RAF Leeming, there are lots of aircraft to look out for.
Oaklands has good public transport and road networks to market towns such as Bedale, Northallerton and Thirsk. The railway station in Northallerton offers destinations all over England. Northallerton has a number of social and leisure opportunities in mainstream and specialist services such as Gateway, Northdale Horticultural Centre, Pendragon sensory building, Chopsticks and Breathing Space. To access these, Oaklands has its own vehicles. Activities are chosen by the people whose home is Oaklands and we follow a person centred approach to supporting the adults who live here.
Oaklands are proud of being part of the local community and are regular users of the local amenities, and local shops.
