Northfield House

Northfield House, at Knayton near Thirsk, is a spacious modern detached house providing high quality care with the flexibility to meet specific individual needs. Our aim is to listen to the service user, their relatives and staff and continually assess the quality of the service we offer.

Any ideas and suggestions that can be used to change or improve the service for the benefit of all are warmly received and acted upon. On site activities within the home include the use of :

Art and craft work
Sensory Room
Quiet Areas
Cookery

Outdoor grassed areas provide a facility for service users to have a barbeque, play ball games or simply enjoy the outdoors.

A high priority is placed on providing fulfilling experiences for all our service users. Regular social visits and opportunities for learning are provided throughout the year. These include visits to swimming pools, bowling alleys, cinemas, walking, places of interest and any other activities that are interesting and stimulating for the people we support.

Outside the home environment we support individuals to access social groups and activities of their choice, adult education courses, life skills courses and employment training activities.
